Tripping: A Web Series
This 16 episode web series follows the journey of an apathetic nut collector (robot?!) and a depressed artist who live in poverty, using magic mushrooms to escape the harsher realties of their lifestyle. Along the way, you will meet a dead raccoon, a powerful rock, and pigs--so many pigs.
This series was conceived and created by two of my good friends. It is strange and wonderful and takes you in unexpected directions along the way. I helped film and I play a character named Shelly in the final episode!

Peter Pan: Making a Crocodile Mask and Tail
The frames of both the mask and the tail were made using tin foil, then I used paper mache to give them a more durable structure. I coated them with a sealant, spray painted them green, then added more details with brown and green paint with a sponge. Finally, I added another coat of sealant and they were finished!
I then attached the mask to a brown head band so the actor could easily put it on and remove it. I also attached the tail and scales directly to the actor's costume so she could easily put those on as well!
She used a skateboard to glide around on the floor to giver her a more crocodile-like movement pattern as well.

Die Fledermaus: Making Chandeliers
These two prop chandeliers (right) are made from threaded rods, Masonite, Christmas lights and over 5,000 straws!
First we cut and welded a frame out of the threaded rods. I cut the Masonite boards into strips with a jigsaw and drilled holes for hanging the straws and for attaching the Masonite to the metal frame. Then I built a series of wooden frames out of two-by-fours to help shape the Masonite. I soaked the Masonite boards in water so they could be bent into ovals using the wooden frames. After they had dried, I attached the Masonite to the threaded rod frame using washers. Lights were added, a foam trim was attached to each tier, and the frames were spray painted gold. Then the straws were hung using paper clips and pre-drilled holes. A light layer of white spray paint was added to interior side of the straws as a final touch.
Thanks to the cast and staff who wired the lights and helped with all the straws!
